Dog Friendly Dinner Dates in Cambridgeshire

It’s no secret that I (Hayley) love dogs! Show me a puppy and I’ll go from entrepreneurial creative restauranteur / coach into a puddle of gooey “ooohhh myyy godddd he’ssss soooooo cutttttteeeee” in about 10 seconds flat. I can’t even deny it. Fur babies are my Achilles heel. Craig is also at least 50% puppy so I’m well trained in the arts of such mischievous and playful creature's!

It’s not always easy to find a dog friendly pub and we really want to create a cosy, happy space where everyone can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and epic plates of lushness that we’re know for. With that in mind, whilst we aim to provide dog friendly dining at The Chubby Frog, we do have a few house rules that must be abided by, no matter how cute your pup is! Or cat…. (See picture below!)

So here are the non negotiables:

🐾 Paws on the floor - No dogs, big or small, are permitted to sit on the soft furnishings, this includes the leather Chesterfield!

🐾 Dogs must be kept on leads. Because lets face it, not everyone loves dogs as much as we do! We’re also a family friendly space with children often present, so for their safety and your dogs peace of mind they need to remain at your table with the lead firmly secured.

🐾 Which brings me to our final rule for the pups - The presence of your dog must not be a disturbance to other diners. So if your dog barks a lot at other dogs or people, or because they didn't like the way a server delivers your drinks etc etc, you may be asked to come back another time without the afore mentioned barking beast. Sorry!

Follow those simple house rules and all good boys and girls are welcome! We’re also blessed to be surrounded by beautiful countryside, and The Chubby Frog provides the perfect little pit stop if you’re out on a walk and looking for somewhere dog friendly to enjoy a few drinks afterwards or tuck into a Sunday Roast before you head home. Just ask resident pub dog Rocco (he’s the scrappy looking black ball of fluff!) for all the good local walking routes, he’s lucky enough to enjoy them daily. If it’s wet weather and you’r planning to visit, please bring a dry towel for them to get comfy.

It’s also worth knowing that a few months back we introduced a locally made Doggie Ice cream that your pups have been absolutely loving! We’ll also be introducing a new menu soon for your four legged friend to enjoy a treat or two when you visit us, so watch this space. Did someone say….. Puppuccino?!

In the meantime, you’ll find a jar of grain free dog treats at the bar and we look forward to you and your pooch joining us soon!
